![]() Has someone a manual somewhere that explain in detail how to get the most out of this program ?Ģ/ Robin Wong writes on his blog that unsing Viewer 3 gives better pictures than other program such as lightroom or photoshop ? I think he means more detailed pictures with Viewer 3. In My Computer, double-click OLYMPUS Setup, and then double-click the Launcher.exe file. There is the help section but it is not that practical. To manually open the setup screen, click the Start button on the Windows desktop. Lightroom is way advanced, but you need to buy it and then spend time learning it.įor jpg, pansonic's silkypix gives me better details using USM, but what a confusing program that is.ġ/I am trying to use this program and wonder if there is a manual somewhere. It Doesn't have separate chroma noise reduction which I use a lot in DPP. You don't get real time feed back with things like curves, which is a step below better raw processors. Just my opinion, I don't like Olympus viewer 3 that much as a Canon DPP user (the canon eqivalent), but its the best way to change raw camera settings in post processing, and pretty good for jpg too. ![]() ![]() I bought Capture One after spending a short time with the trial. Finally something that delivers as advertised. Most recently, I tried Phase One Capture One. Noise reduction wasn't quite as good as Lightroom or DXO, but got the colors right. Very good lens corrections.Īftershot Pro also got a long trial. They probably didn't spend much time on getting Olympus colors correct. Being the self proclaimed high authority on sensors, they sure missed this one. but the program is still requiring a lot of manipulation to get photos to look as good a Viewer 3. I also work through a long trail of DXO Optics Pro. I've spent a couple months with it and found it is just too much trouble for no real gain over Viewer. Without a fair amount of dinking around Lightroom opens ORF files looking like CRAP, colors are wrong, skin tones look sick. Taking all of this into consideration, it becomes apparent that Olympus Viewer is a useful and complex piece of software for viewing, managing and editing photographs, which does not put a strain on your PC’s resources.2/ Robin Wong writes on his blog that unsing Viewer 3 gives better pictures than other program such as lightroom or photoshop ? Once you are done with editing, you can save the files to the HDD in JPG, TIFF and BMP formats, while also selecting compression quality and resolution. With this program, you can also capture images from movies, fade in and out, cut movies or merge frames. Plus, you can tweak the gamma, colors, brightness, contrast and saturation, as well as use noise reduction, distortion correction, shading compensation and sharpness tools. In the edit window, you can insert text, zoom in and out, remove red eyes, correct fisheye and flip images. Aside from that, you can set a photo as a wallpaper or access tools such as Auto-Panorama, or a resize and convert one. It is possible to cut, copy, paste and rotate files, as well as upload them to social networking platforms such as Facebook, Flickr and YouTube. The first enables you to add entire folders of images and see them as thumbnails or on the entire screen. This software tool can be shown in different modes, namely the viewer and the edit ones. In addition to that, it consists of a folder structure, a panel in which to preview pictures, a selection box, several shortcut buttons and a menu bar This means that it can be used even by people with no prior experience with computers. The installation process does not bring any surprises, and upon completing it, you are greeted by a modern-looking and intuitive interface. Olympus Viewer is a software utility developed specifically to help people view, print and edit photos from their hard drive. Note: You need to enter your camera's alphanumeric serial number in order to download the application
